Oh yes,and there will be a Sainsburys opening at the old Lewis's which is now being redeveloped.a little odd considering they have one at the Merrion. One criticism of the new city centre living boom was the lack of shops for getting groceries, looks now like there may be too many in a small area,Morrisons and sainsburys at the Merrion,Sainsburys on the Headrow.

Not only in town cnosni - the seemingl thriving petrol station at the bottom of Roundhay Road closed suddenly, was demolished and within a very short few weeks reopened as.... a Tescco petrol station and Tesco Express, just a couple of miles down the road from their main store. In fact it all happened so quickly, I could almost believe they have them ready built in a warehose somewhere and ship'em out over night when they want another store!

She's having the day off tomorrow to come to Leeds to watch the Pie Eaters at Headingley but also to indulge in some retail therapy in the city.

SimonmI am a southerner but I love Leeds!!! Best thing I ever did was to move here - I even love the Merrion Centre with its time-warp to the 70s. And what I love best is the fact that people here are so proud of their city: realistic, critical, at times angry; at times frustrated but still stand up for the city. There are some fantastic buildings in the city centre especially if you take the time to walk around just taking it all in. It is sad to think of the bits that have been lost but thanks to many of the people who chat on SLs there is a vibrant history being told to us newcomers which is reflected in the buildings (if you can look beyond the horrible new city centre flats).Oh, and of course Leeds has the best RL team in the world! Don't get that down south!

Yes, great humour among the old fashioned Loiners.Got off a train from Newcastle once and the first thing I heard was two GNER employees talking about the latest LUFC match:'What about that then, 7-0?'[poker faced] 'Aye, it was that last goal that did for 'em'

Well hear goes i must be the odd one out i had reason to go into Leeds on tuesday got the bus down can not afford to pay parking fees. I had a walk around the market this i enjoyed.then left the market this is when things started to go wrong i could not for the life of me find any shop that took my interest.Years ago i could have spent hours in (Town) not now i hear every one giving the center praise. I must be a dinosaur one of a kind i think there must be only me who thinks this way being born and bred in Leeds i think i have the right to say how i feel now will see if get the coup de grace?

That's just getting old. Shops are full of the same thing being reinvented. once you've seen them three times round you' ve seen it all.

Joke!      Launched with quite a flurry as inovative Geordie ( launched is subtley appropriate - it flew of its mountings when the first attempt to place it was made - bits in the wrong place I think!), but then you see that the design has actually been in use all over the country for some considerable time.
