I think there was a short-lived "Apple Shop" (not official, of course) in that location at one point. It will have been the mid to late '90s I think though which seems a long time for the logos to hang on.I know there was an "Apple Shop" at the bottom of the Merrion Centre and wonder whether there was a connection -- for example if the business moved up there a short time after opening.

Hmm, seems like this 'Bluetooth Spectrum' is a bit of a cash in on the retro computer trend, its basically a dressed up bluetooth keyboard. I cant see many people flocking to buy this at that price and then have to pay extra to download Spectrum games when there have been dozens of Sinclair Spectrum and other emulators around for years where you can download thousands of vintage games for free. You can purchase a genuine Sinclair Spectrum 48K for less than that price.Alan Sugar had a pop at cashing in on the Spectrum's nostalgia value with his ill-fated Amstrad 'Emailer' internet telephone which came with a built in Spectrum Emulator and a feature that let you download and play games on the telephones colour LCD screen. It didnt take off...

I knew a lad at work was interested in computers, so I gave it to him. Some of the things he programmed it to do were amazing, such as control of house lights and mathematical programs. Clearly though I was rubbish (still am!) at doing such things the ZX in the right hands could do complex things.

Regarding the possible once a computer shop on Boar Lane that is being renovated into a men's clothing shop (see my earlier posts) I noticed on passing by today (Feb 27 2014) that the Apple name and the two Apple icons have now been removed.

Hi Microbytemob, I used to use the Microbyte shop down the County Arcade and I'd also go to the Wakefield shop too, my old man used to do quite a bit of work for Michael Robinson the bloke who owned Microbyte so I was lucky enough to be given an Amiga 500 when they first came out. Did you get along to the vintage computer fair at Leeds town hall last weekend? I was gutted to have missed it as I'd kept the date in my diary since hearing about it last year. Also whats the name of your facebook group?
