Watching DCI Banks and just recognised the junior school featured.    It's on Barwick Road and was also used in 'Come Rain come shine' with David Jason a few years ago.

But it ''could'' have been the one under the Holbeck viaduct I thought. I'll have to look out for that bit as it's not been on yet.

Does anyone know where the 'abandoned mine' used is?

That's an overview of the area.And it looks more like a crushed stone quarry rather than coal to me.I'm no expert Geologist, but it looks pretty similar to crushed limestone.Which is in ample supply and quarried up around the Skipton and Grassington areas.Perhaps if we find an abandoned Limestone quarry, or loading facility in Yorkshire. While I was doing the screen grabs - this is the ginnel and subway I thought might be under the Holbeck viaduct. That part will be on next week.

Hi Phill,hadn't seen the programme but your take on this looks much more likely my friend.Always playing catch up on DCI Banks due to other commitments !

There's clearly a lot of filming going on in the area. Passing the old Public Dispensary on North Street earlier today (Feb 4 2014) there were a number of vans around that I associate with filming, such as Provision vans.
