The film 'Tyrannosaur' is being shown on Channel 4 this Tuesday (10th Dec) at 11.10pm.It was filmed in Leeds, with several key scenes being filmed in Seacroft (The Gate pub and the shops on Kentmere Ave by St Richards Church feature prominently) and also in the now closed LB's cafe at Cross Gates.A word of warning though - I found it almost unremittingly grim, despite (or perhaps because of) the intense performances on screen

The program concentrated on the railways in the Cumbrian area and there was a short section related to the brewing industry in what looked to be the late Victorian era , there was an old photo of the brewery yard with lots of beer casks and barrels, horses and drays and workers in leather aprons loading the drays. Displayed across the top of a long row of barrels was a traders sign which read English and Continental Casking Co. Leeds. Does anyone have any knowledge where this company traded and what happened to it? Did anyone else see this? It may of course have been commented on before as the program was an old repeat I think?

Not exactly Leeds On Screen, but Leeds On Radio. (I did try searching for a Leeds On Radio thread, but only found a lot of vitriol aimed at stuff "on Radio Leeds").Anyway, Radio 4 Extra are currently broadcasting the third series of the Leeds based detective series Trueman And Riley. Admittedly the actual Leeds content is thin, but some might find it interesting. As of today they've already broadcast 4 of the 5 episodes, but these are still available on the iPlayer for a limited time here:http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00j8bq ... des/player

The BBC are showing a 2 parter this week about the Great Train Robbery,A Copper's Tale and A Robber's Tale.A preview in the Mail on Sunday 8/12 refers to filming on a disused rail line on "the outskirts of Leeds"This they go on to say was the Keighley and Worth Valley!.Then in Saturdays YEP they refer to filming at a farm also"on the outskirts of Leeds"Is the YEP report true or have they got it wrong(again)
