I'd second that the views to the south over Leeds from the top of the Billing Hill in Rawdon over Leeds and across the Aire valley are fantastic. You need to go up a cul-de-sac behind the Emmot Arms in Rawdon (you can park the car there if you're driving). Then walk up the Billing, the best views are from the triangulation pillar which is just to the right of the wooded hilltop as you are walking up the hill from the direction of the Emmott Arms. Looking from virtually the opposite direction (from the south to north) you will get some amazing views of Leeds if you venture up Hart Hill in Gildersome, where there is another triangulation post, here the views over Leeds are almost like looking at an architects model of a city where you can see the motorways, the town hall, university, office tower block etc. However one of my favorite views is from near where Scotchman Lane in Morley crosses the M62 motorway. Looking to the south over towards Batley, Dewsbury and Huddersfield there is a complete 180 degree+ panorama where you can see for absolutely miles on a clear day. From here you can see the Emley Moor transmitter clearly, and in the middle of the panorama you can make out Castle Hill above Huddersfield which looks almost the same as Glastonbury Tor - albeit a West Yorkshire version! You can see right into the Derbyshire Peak District beyond the towering Holme Moss, and the whole backbone of the Pennines can be observed marching from north to south.
