Try herehttp://www.picresize.com/Upload the pic and choose 'custom size' then you insert the size you want (Is it 48x48 for icons)

I have tried to add another avatar as I removed my old as someone else had the same one and I kept thinking that their posts were mine. Anyway I have tried and tried and keep getting this message "Not a valid user icon URL". I am doing what I did before but something is not working. I have the pic uploaded into photobucket is that site the problem? If so which is best? Ta.
Sit thissen dahn an' tell us abaht it.

Sounds as though the address you are using is incomplete shris - do as Carith suggests, open the pic and copy the address from the top menu bar - think tha is all I did too. Should end up looking something like this:
