As for Tetley Bitter being 'franchised' as such, he said it's very, very unlikely. Carlsberg have zero interest. For years, they've been slowly removing and taking away the heritage. They have no regard for it whatsoever. A few folk say they are almost jealous of it. It's very disappointing. One example I refer to is when they demolished the pub in the car park, which was a listed building, without telling anyone prior (what was the pub called?). I think it was called the Huntsman.

The Engineers offices were in that building. That was up to 1976 at least when Tets was autonomous pre Burtonification with Allied.

There are only 10 types of people in the world -those who understand binary, and those that don't.

Like I said in a previous post I think it was Duke William The Duke William was a stand alone building in the end between the lorry park and car park inside the Tet's boundary wall alongside Waterloo Road.It was an old pub built many years ago.the Huntsman is the "Huntsman Bar" which was also known as the reception bar. Tour parties would often start their tour at the Duke William which was dry. They would end their tours at the Hunstman Bar where free drinks could be had. Some tour guests used to get in the bar and stay in it and not do the tour!!There were other places on site where you could be served free drinks but none of them official!!

Looks like the Duke William was right up against the wall of Tetley's. It disappeared some time before 1947.
