About Professor Marks, his boxing academy was, as far as I recall, in that flat-iron shaped block of buildings bordered by New York Street, Harper Street and Kirkgate - close to the old Market and Corn Exchange. Definitely still in business during the 1950's when my brother and I were 'students'. Appreciate that five years have passed since Dave H originally posted his query about Professor Marks, but I only noticed this site today.
