You've missed the point a bit there Chris. Old Mods actually refers to my old school (Leeds Modern) and the rugby team I subsequently played for were called Old Modernians, Old Mods for short. Bit of a play on words and all that. I take it you're not keen on Mods then?
Old Mods never die, they just semi retire.

I take it you're not keen on Mods then? well certainly the most common use of the word in the context of a person tends to be that of a parka wearing scooter riding chap with a target on his back.

This is a good pic of the police station in context with the Yorkshire Hussar, where Hoagys is now at the bottom of Eastgate. You can go wander down Union Street and see the enamel brick interior walls. The police station looked after Quarry Hill, which without being too derogatory was not one of the nest areas in the city. don't confuse the white enamelled bricks on union street with the police station...they are from union street public baths.

Don't think the ones on the far right are, the ones nearest Union Street. There is no way that it could have been if you look at the pics/ aerial views, given there would be no space for the old migarth station anywhere else.
