there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

I look at the online version to see if there might be something to make it worth buying the paper. There usually isn't I'm afraid. They must have been short on news for the last three days to keep wittering on about the Leeds "vice trade". It rather smacks of desperation!

It really is time the 'Evening' was dropped from the title. OK, that would leave 'Yorkshire Post' which would be confusing with that name already used. I even think the 'Yorkshire' should be dropped as there is little (if any) coverage of South Yorkshire events.I wonder if there is more than one issue of the YEP as that which I get in late morning or early afternoon always has "Main Edition" on the front page, which implies there is at least another edition but I cannot recall seeing one.

Only one edition nowadays, printed overnight in the depths of South Yorkshire, along with the Halifax Evening Courier and the rest of the local papers owned by the group and delivered to the shops by Menzies with the mornings papers. Even that chap from the YEP they have on Radio Leeds once a week to discuss the days news says to check the website for the latests news.

Tucked away in the depths of this mornings paper is an article about a collision which occurred on Wellington Street "outside the YEP building" on Thursday afternoon. Commuters may like to note this was what caused one lane on Wellington Street to be closed and traffic to back up onto City Square, round the loop, down Neville Street and onto the M621.....Radio Leeds initially gave it out as a car fire, before changing it to "an incident".This apparently involved "a hybrid Toyota car and a larger vehicle, either a van or a lorry" !!!!A van OR a lorry? It was right outside their office - could they not see it?

I've always thought the 'Yorkshire' was a bit presumptive. It's really just Leeds and Wakefield. The Star has been South Yorkshire's paper since the early 80s. There were town editions until a few years ago. Now it's as thin as the Evening Post.
