I read the Yorkshire Post the other day - far better news paper - you wouldn't believe it was produced by the same company

Does anyone actually approve of Rod Mcphees crusade to turn Leeds into an adjunct to Hello Magazine?

[quotenick="jim"]Does anyone actually approve of Rod Mcphees crusade to turn Leeds into an adjunct to Hello Magazine? [/quoteNo nor can I understand his habit of calling Himself a "Loiner" and that Leeds is His City. ( Was Gloucestshire so bad Rod?) Once He moves on to some other rag He will be Caister/Rotherham etc through and through. In the past He used to call anyone who had the gall to disagree with Him a moaning Albert Steptoe, but His editor seems to have put a block on that.I also agree Debbie Leighs piece was crude to say the least but we can't be too scathing when in this public forum, sometimes viewed by children, We deem it ok to refer to some sections of society as "Tossers" because They have a tankard behind the bar at Their local!

Such columnists seem to see themselves as "edgy" and "today". I'm afraid that I see them as shallow and meretricious.

It wouldn't be too bad if they had a bit of life experience (instead of being barely out of work experience) and had a wide range of subjects to write about, instead of bleating on about the same few things every week.

It was on the news stand at 8am this morning. I can't get my head around a morning evening paper? The late editions never have any evening news in them. they used to get a green 'un out by tea time on Saturdays and it had the results in it.I know we have smartphones and t'internet now but the printed word is going back'ards. Next move by Johnson press has to be a free sheet like MEN and Evening Standard.

All of the issues that I get of the YEP are stated to be "Main Edition". Is there any other edition nowadays, as I don't recall ever seeing one since the YEP started to be printed near Sheffield some while back now.
