Jimmy Savile

What I can't understand is the claim today from the Leeds Hospitals Trust that Jimmy Savile didn't begin working at the LGI until 1990. Most Leeds people will know that is nonsense - he was certainly working there in the 1970's. I remember that a friend's brother suffered a serious accident in the early 1970's and my friend gleefully told me how Jimmy Savile had been the porter who took his brother up to the ward and how he comforted him. I saw Savile in the LGI myself, in porter's uniform, in 1976 and spoke to him. I was visiting my father on my way home from school at St Michael's College. (In those days, Jimmy Savile lived opposite the school - I think it was in Consort Terrace).Personally, I think that this whole issue is very sad. Of course, his reported actions are entirely inexcusable - but he did a lot of good things as well - but he will be remembered for the abuse. Many Leeds people have long been cynical about Jimmy Savile's motivation for his good works, and now they will say he only did it to gain access to vulnerable young people. I'm not so cynical - I think he was a complex person - as we all are to some extent. I think he had genuinely good intent - but this has been irrevocably tarnished by the abuse. All in all, I think it's very sad.

Maybe a misunderstanding here.Isn't the issue that the finger-pointer, a former employee entirely coincidentally called Pratt, has made accusations about Jimmy Savile and events during the eighties when he himself (Pratt, not JS) started work at LGI in 1990?So it is a hearsay account rather than direct knowledge.

All in all, I think it's very sad. I would be even more cynical about why Savile did all this charity work, for one it got him close to vulnerable children as mentioned, but the main reason was nothing but narcissistic attention seeking.Attention and being in the limelight is a narcissists drug, it's what makes them feel any sense of self worth, they'll go to any lengths to get it. Savile went through the pain barrier many times to get his attention. It just so happened that being Mr Nice guy, doing great acts of charity got Savile the attention he wanted, if a narcissist can't get any attention from being good, they'll equally court attention at being bad. Mr smiles and Nice guy in the public eye, the two faced narcissist is a secretive, manipulative, argumentative, evasive, and a loner character for real. Always swerving questions, you can never get a straight answer out of them, it that wasn't Savile...I'll eat my hat.Think about it, the great lengths celebs go to keep out of the public eye, even resorting to thumping photographers following them, but not Savile, every thing he did he made sure was in the papers and surrounded by publicity. You only have to watch the documentary ''When Louis Theroux met Jimmy Saville'' herehttp://www.dailymotion.com/video/xu2udi_when-l ... le_newsYou can see from 35.22 seconds into the program when Savile breaks his leg and has to go into hospital, the first thing he does, even before he phones the hospital, is to arrange a photographer for the local paper to snap him for the story.A narcissist will got out of their way with generosity if it gets them what they want, but boy they'll never let you forget they did you a good turn. As can be seen when Savile phones the hospital asking if the camera crew, and photographer can come along. While waiting the ok from the hospital, he tells them '' who is there who can give us clearance? bear in mind I've given you lots of machines in the past''When his story and photo was in the paper, Louis-Theroux asked why it was important to him have the story in the paper. He says''It's to be expected, one is a fun person, and people will smile and say, that Jim is some man, and that's very pleasant'He never did let people forget what good works he did in the past.I just think it's wrong that his charity work can be seen as an act of selfless good and caring, when in actually fact it was nothing but a self centred vehicle to get him the attention he desired.A lot of people did benefit from Saviles narcissism true, but it's now emerged that a lot of people equally suffered. The signs of a classic two headed, split personality narcissist if ever!He might have wore the Mr Nice guy mask and got away with it all his life, but thankfully to set the record straight, that mask has well and truly fallen off, and smashed to pieces now. Narcissist, a most unusual character. http://www.echo.me.uk/npd3.htm

I was wondering when the press were going to link Savile and Sutcliffe together, given the fact the Ripper killed Irene Richardson 72 yards away from his flat.He also attacked Marcella Claxton in the very same place, luckily she survived. I've blanked the body off as it's not really suitable viewing for any younger folk using the site. But that's where she was killed, and this is where it was on google street viewhttp://goo.gl/maps/qK2ahYou only have to turn street view around to see how near Saviles flat it is herehttp://goo.gl/maps/CVrelThe top penthouse on the left.Sutcliffe said at the time he heard someone coming out of those flats and he made off.72 yards away. More about the Irene Richardson murder herehttp://www.execulink.com/~kbrannen/victim09.htmThe press might not have run these stories about him when he was alive, but their having a field day now...............THE SUN.Savile and the RipperWas BBC's paedo also a killer?http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... inked.html
