Noise from ambulance sirens and events in Millennium Square- I remember when there was a simple traffic sign outside the LGI saying "Hospital Quiet Please". How times have changed!Leodian wrote:Hi Johnny39Johnny39 wrote:Hi Leo - Please correct me if I'm wrong but I was lead to believe that the Town Hall clock did'nt strike 12 midnight so as not to disturb patients sleeping at the Infirmary. Does anyone know if this is true? The lions did however get down and run round the Town Hall, that much is true - mi Dad told mi!!!![]()
I don't know if the clock not striking midnight is true or not but it is an interesting idea. With traffic noise (particularly ambulance sirens) and noise from events in Millennium Square it might be quite noisy in LGI nowadays unless it has good soundproofing. I like that the lions run round the Town Hall. They probably however do it late in the night when they see few people about so they know that nobody will believe reports when the person doing that has likely had a few drinks! Leo the Lion

Re: Question Time from Leeds Town Hall
It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!
