Although I was/am very dismissive of these new variants I think the game has a fascinating history - particularly the classic 'London' and 'Atlantic City' versions. A search on google reveals some interesting stuff - the game itself dates back more than a hundred years - pre-dating by 30+ years the marketing of 'Monopoly' by Parker Brothers. Originally it was invented by a Quaker woman (Elizabeth J.Magie) to demonstrate the inequities of a property market based on landlords and tenants - and she hoped that the game would lead to social reform and a fairer system when people realised this.(some hope!)
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.
