You can get a pot of magnesium sulphate from the pharmacy to 'draw' boils. Used to be known as 'drawing ointment'. £1.40 in Tesco. Not that I've err, had boils or owt.

If I recall my geology exams, it is degraded granite, being made up of quartz, mica and fluospar(?) and is therefore insoluble. It is mined extensively in the St Austell area of Cornwall, if memory serves.Grumpytramp may have more detail...

Kaolin morphine mixture is still availlable over the counter from the chemist. You can get solid tablets too. The morphine content is very low but it is dissolved in alcohol! Not my favourite cocktail. It is an acquired taste but if you are travelling to some parts of the world you might get accustomed to it.Diocalm tablets also contain morphine hydrochloride.
It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!

Ravioli, ravioli followed by ravioli. I happen to like ravioli.
