Had some marvellous brakes with carvon fibre pads, nearly put myself over the top when I tried them. Bet I could still build a wheel though!

I had a Bob Jackson in the 80's, it was a beautiful bike with ornate lugs and nice Campagnolo fittings. Got robbed from my parents garage. Got a Falcon to replace, it not in same league.Anyoen remember Combat Sports on Boar Lane in the 80's? Sold all sorts of ninja rubbish to spotty, violence obsessed teenagers. I bet teachers loved it.

Yes, it had 'CollectoMag'(?) next door, or very close by (or was that it's name when it moved onto Upper Briggate opposite the Grand Theatre?Used to buy old music magazines in there.

'Maverick Cyles' (Dave Laverick, near 'Dawsons Corner', Pudsey) - Remember this one, it was opposite the fire station and Pudsey police station, Dave was a good rider, fit as a fiddle as used to go cycling with him in the late 80's, he had a wife who rode called Diane and a friend of mine saw him a few weeks ago and he's well.

I saw Dave at a Cyclo-Cross not too long ago, as I was in the same race as himHe is looking good for his age! (think I bet him though, or was within a couple of places of him)I can't remember which event it was offhand?
