There's also the sitcom Barbara from a few years ago, some outside scenes of which were filmed in Meanwood. It starred Gwen Taylor and Sam Kelly, but sadly wasn't up to the standard of their previous legendary work in Duty Free and Allo Allo.

I was told that the 'Farnell's' office on Armley Road was used as the police station in Frost. One episode featured Thwaite Mills near Oulton where Jack Frost goes in the river to pull a kidnapped child out of a hole in the walled banking.

In that case there should be lots of 'DG's for Diamond Geezer around the place at the moment, as the Old Jampot seems to be filming every day in Leeds. The crypt in the Town Hall was recently converted into the Security HQ of Buckingham Palace for a few scenes.

the police station in frost has moved about a few times in different series. in the early ones it was the old (IMI Marston?) radiator factory opposite farnells. the main entrance in the shots was in fact the security hut which didnt have another exit. bits of one episode were filmed in garforth main street and barwick road. the main street scene was the one where frost pulls out in his car and intecepts some fleeing armed robbers in his usual heroic style - he pulled out of couplnd road onto main st which had been blocked off for filming for the day, i know this because my Ma went to watch the filming and apparently David Jason is a "very nice man", and not a jampot as previously speculated!Theres the bit also where an armed policeman (who was also a fireman in londons burning) shot his colleauge whilst wading about under the dark arches. Most if not all is shot in the leeds sort of area and some surrounding towns (some shots i know of were in Whitwod near Cas Vegas).

I'm not sure that being a 'jampot' & a 'very nice man' are mutually exclusive...

Hi, a jampot is a jar that holds jams or preserves, and I like jams or preserves. So they must be nice. Does that mean David Jason and a jampot are the same then, very nice?

The police station in TOF has moved around a bit. The most used location is Farnells on Armley Road, but in one of the earlier episodes the location was one of the old factories on Coal Road at Seacroft. The Dark Arches has featured quite a bit although in the search for suitable locations you can find yourself all over Leeds especially during scenes involving a car chase...The now demolished shopping parade at Swarcliffe was also used in an episode which featured an "Auntie Wainwright" style second hand shop (the opposite half of the parade is still there, complete with Tung Ying chinese takeaway and the Food King mini-market). The bungalows on the Kennerleighs in Crossgates have also been used, as has that little estate on the curve in Wetherby Road by the entrance to Roundhay Park. To be fair the main reason for watching Frost is trying to spot the locations! The pub in No Angels is the Prince of Wales in Leeds City Centre, although I think they changed the name for filming. The Biederbecke series used Foxwood school. Filming on the first series was the summer before I started there and then another series was filmed while I was there. I don't think I ever made it onto the telly but I wouldn't mind watching the repeats if the ever show them.

Although I have never watched Fat Friends I believe they have filmed in a fish and chip shop on Butcher Hill, off Spen Lane. I was passing the shop one day and a large amount of film crew were there. I was told later that was what they were recording. When the Biederbecke series (two of them I think) were being film I was working as a field tv engineer. I knew of the locations but never saw any of the filming being done.
