My day job is wringing out wash leathers for a one-armed window cleaner.More seriously. I seem to recall that the terrace in which the Panther's house stands is actually called Grangefield Avenue, even though to all intents and purposes it fronts on to Leeds & Bradford Road.

Yes quite likely - it seems fairly common for terraces within a major road to have a "local" name as well. I'm relieved to hear that you have "another string to your bow" in the occupation stakes LOL LOL
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Was 1961 the same year when the winter was incredibly cold? I've got some old cine-film of me (aged about two or three) playing on Lake Windermere - it was frozen all the way across.
