jdbythesea wrote: Thanks for the quick fix Duncan. Incidentally, I notice that the "search" facility has disappeared from the home page. Sorry if I've missed something but how do we select the right thread to post on? Do you mean the menu item for search under the photo bar. I suspect that is because we are now using google for searching now rather than the inbuilt, and frankly uselsess, search facility. Using Chrome the Search is definitely on http://www.secretleeds.com/ and http://www.secretleeds.com/forum/ as well as any thread page. However spotting a WHITE box on a WHITE background isn't that easy. It is just to the left of a blue button and contains the faint text Google Custom Search. The text box becomes even more visible on mouseover. It does have a very feint border which again is slightly more obvious on mousever and is thick blue if the box is clicked in.I'm not quite sure what you mean by right thread to post in or is that because you can't search for a relevant one. If it is an existing thread a "new message" link is at the bottom of the page or you can click on the quote link above each previous post. If you are wanting to start a new thread then you need to be looking at a thread in the correct forum and click on new thread at the bottom of the page or looking at the index page for the correct forum e.g. buildings and structures http://www.secretleeds.co.uk/forum/Thre ... ForumID=13 where there is a new thread link at the top or bottom of each page.

The search box is definitely missing on the active threads page when using Firefox.

It's missing on Chrome too, on the active threads page, but visible from others, so the same as you're getting on Firefox. I guess the search facility isn't as important on the active threads page, as by clicking on that page you've already made a decision to look for active threads rather than a general search.

Well, whatever the cause it's less straightforward now to figure out how and where to post.Like Phill I use Firefox: I do have Chrome as well but find that less user-friendly.

Thanks folks, I spotted that the search box was missing on Active Threads the other day actually; it applies to all browsers, it's missing the right bit of code on that page. I'll sort it out asap.

Oh yes, and I retired the old search function because it was useless - if you spot a link to it anywhere on the site let me know and I'll remove it. Give the Google Search a try JD, it's miles better!
