Perhaps we should just rename this thread The Never Ending Creep of Supermarkets.Approaching the Barwick Road roundabout to join the A6120 I see a large sign has appeared on the site of the (largely) empty and redundant units next to Netto promising of a large new supermarket for Seacroft!I couldn't take in too much from this distracting sign nor have I seen anything elsewhere about this. Could it be that ASDA are to rebrand and rebuild the old Netto perhaps?Whatever, I don't see how the main road or the old village road, particularly with Aldi over the way will cope with more traffic trying, sorry, forcing its way out of the site. A large delivery wagon reversing into Netto yesterday teatime from the old York Road resulted in a tail back of traffic approaching 100m back towards Halfords, some wanting to go through the village, most just trying to progress to the Ring Road directly. Such fun.

Such fun. Netto had plans to flatten the whole site and build a big new store before they were bought out by Asda. I'm fairly sure that the sign has been there from then and simply hasn't been taken down. The signs actually says something along the lines of "Your new Netto store for 2011".Would the competition people allow a new mini-Asda so near the big Asda on York Road (if Tesco are anything to go by, that would be a yes...)

You're probably right davey - though it's odd I've never noticed it before - that's my way home everyday - on the other hand, maybe I'm just concentrating hard on my driving, ahmmm

Looks like we've got an Aldi going in at Cardigen Fields/that cinema complex place on Kirkstall Road.Just got the consulatation paperwork put through my letterbox, you get to say whether you agree with it or not and any objections that will fit in the postage stamp sized box. Then you return it to Aldi
