Just on the David Jason bit (which gave me a much needed laugh). I wonder if it was meant to say "David Jason is a barmpot"?This would be more of a local thing.
Steve JonesI don't know everything, I just like to give that impression!

I know it doesn't have the status of Ben Hur or Brideshead RevisitedBut "Rag Dolly Anna" was set in a tenement block alongside the railway embankment opposite the end of Crown Point Bridge near the Co-op Funeral directors. That's quality.
We wanted to make Leeds a better place for the future - but we're losing it. The tide is going out beneath our feet.

Has anyone else heard this, or knows what part of the film features it? According to Wikipedia :-A Clockwork Orange is shot almost entirely on location in and around London with comparatively little of the film filmed in a studio. The scene where the tramp is attacked was filmed at an underpass near Wandsworth road roundabout, London. The Billyboy gangfight takes place at the now-demolished theatre, Taggs Island, Kingston on Thames. Alex's apartment is in Borehamwood. The house where the writer was attacked and his wife raped was filmed in a house called Skybreak in The Warren, Radlett, Hertfordshire. The house was designed by Sir Norman Foster and Wendy Foster with Sir Richard Rogers. The scene where Alex throws Dim and Georgie into water takes place at the Thamesmead South Housing Estate in London. The house where Alex is caught by the police is Shenley Lodge in Hertfordshire at Blackhorse Lane. The prison exterior is HMP Winchester. The interior scenes were filmed at Woolwich Barracks. The Ludovico centre was filmed at Brunel University Alex's suicide leap was from the Edgewarebury Country Club, Elstree.

I remember a lot of Harry's Game was filmed around Burley, round the Harolds. Also a bit ago on Emmerdale Jack went to visit Diane in MARGATE, but as any Loiner will have spotted they were actually in Roundhay Park.

Bl**dy hell,i forgot about that,it was presented by Pat Coombes i think.Heres what the internet movie data base has to say about Ragdolly Anna"This series was the brainchild of Anne Wood. It was based upon the books by Jean Kenward (which possibly appeared on "The Book Tower" (1979), also produced by Anne Wood). From this series Wood realized that there was a gap in the viewing schedules for toddlers (as the ratings system at that time did not pick them up). From this notion she went on to create Ragdoll Ltd, possibly the biggest children's TV production company in the UK, producing popular programmes such as the Teletubbies, BooBahs, Tot's TV, Rosie and Jim and Pob's Programme. "Though not filmed in Leeds streets, only at the YTV studios, the Book Tower, featured not only Tom Baker reviewing books for children but also had Leeds Bridge House in the opening title sequence, depicting the "Book Tower"that Tom Baker was supposedly in.

The Kay Mellor thing about football that was mentioned was the final series of "Playing The Field" - production was based in Farsley and filmed on location all over Leeds - locations I can recall are the Marleys in Beeston, Guiseley (building a football pavilion and burning it down being a highlight), Chapel Allerton, Lawnswood...Also filmed in 2001 was an American tv remake of "Murder on The Orient Express". Although the filming got some press at the time, i don't think it's ever been shown in the UK. The studio footage was filmed in Horsforth in a converted textile warehouse and various locations around Leeds were also used - "Po Na Na" in town being one.

Thora Hird appeared in a series called Hallelujah, filmed at the Zion Baptist church (now a carpet warehouse) at the top of Hall Rd in Armley.I work for LCC on the roads and at the time of filming we used to park a big Road roller on the corner of Athlone Grove just in Camera shot.A guy used to come along each morning and give the driver a few quid to move it out of camera shot.(That paid for our breakfast)             The daft thing is we weren't even working there. HA HA!
