The old Weights and Measures building has mentions in this thread. Purely by chance I was passing by that long unused building today (May 16 2014) just before 11:30 a.m. and noticed that it was being demolished (very probably for the Victoria Gate development). Being on my way to catch a bus I could not stop long but I took a very few quick photos (the hoardings made it hard to get better photos). This is one of the photos, with Millgarth Police Station on the right which I understand is due to be demolished.

Re: Milgarth police station area.
I thought (hope
) that these 3 photos all taken from about the same spot on St Peter's Street may be of interest. The first shows Millgarth Police Station on August 7 2014. The second shows it undergoing demolition on November 13 2014. The third was taken on November 15 2016 and shows the recently opened Victoria Gate car park about where Millgarth Police Station was.

With no disrespects to Leodian's photographs, in my view they only reinforce how ugly that new building is and how sad that the left hand side of Eastgate has gone.

Union Street baths were definately still there late 60's, If I remember you used to be give a colour (or key when you went in) your colour had 1 hour then they blew a whistle for you to get out. I was only 10 in 1967 so must have been a couple of years later at least.

Re: Milgarth police station area.
Leodian's first pic posted on 16-5-2014 (Weights and Measures Building demolition) with Millgarth on the right, is a reminder of another of the follies of Leeds City Council. In the 1960's (?) somebody dreamed up the wild idea that the whole of Leeds City centre should be on a single level for pedestrians. IIRC, the Bond Street Centre was going to set that level. This meant, for example, that new buildings below that level were built with walkways to reach their first-floor entrances. Boar Lane and Duncan Street were plunged into terminal decline - for younger readers, they used to upmarket streets.
Anyway, in anticipation of all that nonsense, Millgarth Police Station had its original public entrance several floors up, as can be seen from the external staircase in a contrasting finish to the brickwork in that picture. Not exactly user-friendly but it did mean that only really determined people made the effort to go there to report anything.
With apologies if anybody has mentioned this earlier in the thread but it crashes if I try to read it all through

Looking at this picture conveniently still on google street view, the left hand side half way up shows where the walkway would have connected from the west side.
Also the wall of the old, old police station can be seen in the foreground at the bottom of the pic.
