Ravioli, ravioli followed by ravioli. I happen to like ravioli.

i have popped into that Rugeley pub a couple of times when visiting nearby Abbots bromley for The horn dance. been quite a few years since I last visited it,but it used to do a decent pint of ale.I do believe it is said to be haunted by the poisoner as well.
Steve JonesI don't know everything, I just like to give that impression!

I have an uncle, my dad's brother who went out there, Denis, he had 4 daughters when I last heard of him, about the time my dad died. For the Leeds Lass, yes we are all 'Eugene', don't know why. My father died in 1980 aged 52 so your guess at 70 was a bit out.But to keep this thread alive, who remembers Big Jim Moran and Denis Huckerby and Barry Samples? Windmill guys. I remeber a Eugene Lacy from Farsley in the 80's who amongst other places worked on the doors at Harlequins bar in Leeds under the Queens Hotel in City Square and also at Studz bar which was on the corner of Thornbury roundabout. Always found him to be very fair and a decent fella - never ID'd me even though I was only 16 when I started drinking in Harlequins.

(See Service Crew thread) By the way, Hats Off, thanks for your support on that one.PaulB and ChrisM, thanks for remembering Tony Hardcastle and Marco. I posted on the Phono thread to see if anyone remembered Tony. I knew him well and he was an absolute gentleman. Can't say the same for Marco, tho'. I once remember a fracas in the Phono when a punter cracked JT, the owner, and did a runner, followed by Tony, whoo came back about an hour later and said he had lost the offender at Woodhouse Moor! I bet the poor lad still has nightmares to this day re. being chased by a 6ft7", 18st monster who was fit.Bill Richardson I always thought was a bully. He was a big lad but you had to give it back to him, or else he'd walk all over you.Didn't Andy Sykes have the Trotters when Terry Mitchell's boys had the surprise party? Also, anyone remember Eddie and Dave Holland or Tommy McLain from the 60's and Gary and John Street from the Precinct in the 70's? Is the Marco you're referring to Marco Cuffinus? Also the lad who got chased all round Leeds by Tony was a lad I know call Ian - got the shock of his life as he was a keen runner in at that time and thought that a big lump of a bouncer wouldn't get near him, but he nearly had him twice apparantly.

Some notoriously famous names on this thread although i cant believe Eddie Cawley or the Boylens haven't had a mention. Tony and Marco as far as i know were the first ones to set up a bouncing agency, that one caught on quite well didn't it ? Tommy McLean and the Holland brothers were part of the infamous LuLus Boys along with John and Gary Street and a Bramley lad with the nickname of Chip (his last name was Fisher i think ). Bill Richardsons brother that was involved in the Trotters incident was Martin not Joel (Martin is Ryan Bailey of Leeds Rhinos dad ), Joel was badly hurt in an incident at the Kings pub that used to be on Meanwood Road many years ago. Eugene Lacy used to be reffered to as the Pudsey Mafia and was an associate of the Kray twins.

They did - and it resulted in some exchanges which were not really suitable for the site I'm afraid and removed by admin.

I've known Eddie Cawley on and off for the last fifteen years. He now lives a quiet life and is one of the most pleasant individuals i've ever met.

Eugene Lacy used to be reffered to as the Pudsey Mafia and was an associate of the Kray twins. Sorry all, but as romantic as it may seem in a twisted way and without wanting to offend anyone, I definately don't remember my father ever being known as the Pudsey mafia, he has been dead since 1980, he did lead a shady life, he did know the Kray's, he did have his run ins with the law but in all my 50 years of knowing him he was never refered to as the Pudsey Mafia. All his 'ducking and diving' was in town, or further afield. Some facinating entries on this thread though.

"also involved was Terry Mitchell named the 'hardest' man in Leeds for a number of years. "I used to know a woman who claimed to be his daughter, thought tbh she was a druggy and a complete and utter bullshitter, so with hindsight, i'm not sure i believe a damn word that ever came out of her mouth. For some reason, whenever she rang the local taxi firm she always mentioned she was his daughter, like she thought it got her better service O_o btw maybe i'm getting confused with another Marco, but didn;t he go round the twist and start claiming people had stolen intellectual property from him, involving a comedy show with a character called Fazil Bowlty?
