My dad was a distributer for both the LWN and the Skyrack express.I will have check with him but as far as I know the Skyrack(which was based in Bradford) bought out the LWN in the 90's.I have 10 years experience being a passenger with my dad to drop bundles of Newspapers off to the kids who would then deliver them. The Leeds Weekly News bundles would get delivered on a thursday to our house (over 120 big bundles) stacked up outside and then would take us 2 trips to get them out to the school kids.My dad had endless problems with a lot of the kids who used to dump the bundles in the woods etc basically because they couldnt be bothered delivering them so rounds that werent covered me and my dad used to go round by hand delivering in certain areas. My dad was a distributers for both papers for 17-18 years from the early 80s when the LWN first came out until the late 90's.

Certainly in the past the Skyrack Express was part of the Wakefield Express group - Wakefield Express, Pontefract and Castleford Express, Ossett Observer and Skyrack Express - my father in law was editor of the Ossett Observer - that's how I know this.

The Skyrack had an office on Austhorpe Road, Crossgates. The window had a couple of racks of 10 x 8 photographs all of which could be found in that weeks particular edition. I think the office is now a solicitors.
