Yes you are correct, it is Stat Fold quarrey, sandstone. An enlarged version is below

Cheers chemimike for that enlargement. It does seem to clearly state 'Stat Fold'.PS. On doing a further search it seems that the "31" in the diary extract in my post on 04-Aug-2014 20:36:17 was August 31 1702.

There are a number of roads in Cookridge called the Kirkwoods, are these connected to Mr Kirk?
