We've been up for a walk around the Washburn Valley this morning and as we drove up there both Bramhope and Otley are resplendent with Union Flags, red white and blue bunting and other assorted Jubilee paraphernalia. They seem to have renamed all the pubs in Otley as the "Queen Elizabeth" too.I also saw a very funny sign outside one pub (I think it was The Cross Pipes) along the lines of "Warning - due to ongoing drought conditions, all beer is currently being served at full strength" Not seen so much elsewhere though and nothing announced as going on at all in East Leeds as far as i know (other than at Temple Newsam).

Leeds.aspx There'll be a "do" at our house but I ain't telling you where it is....have invited her majesty but unfortunately she is indisposed on this occasion. Thanks somme1916 that's the spirit. We could use it as a Where is this and once we've all guessed where you live gate crash the party. I hear that the Queen Mother liked a tipple in the pub so the Black Bull might have been an option with her, not sure that the daughter's up for it though. There's a bit of a clue in my posting address.....however her majesty's private secretary has now invited me to her gaff as she understands I may be in grave danger of being overrunon this auspicioius occasion(her being an avid SL follower of course)...Apparently it's a BYO (Pimms and can a peas at the ready)....and there's some kind of shindig round t'front of her house a bit later. In addition, overnight accomodation has been guaranteed at the nearby Chelsea Pensioners Hotel for a nominal sum.I do so hope I shall be suitably impressed by her kind invitation.I have to RSVP on a secret parchment by close of play today.

Sunday Express Crossword has a clue "Park in which Queenie lived in a lodge as a child". 8 letters. Starts with R.I've put Roundhay, but for some reason I'm having difficulty getting other clues to fit.....................

I passed by Millennium Square today just before 13:00 and it was almost deserted. I would have thought the 'Big Lunch' Diamond Jubilee event would have started by then so clearly the poor wet weather had put most people off going. Shame.

I went past at about 16.20. Not the busiest I've seen Millennium Square:
