Regarding the Grand Theatre I wonder if others have noticed just how very tall the building now looks. It was the view of it coming onto Vicar Lane from North Street today that caught my eye of how much the height of the Grand Theatre now dominates the area. I'm sure it was not that tall before the renovations!

[quotenick="Leodian] Regarding the Grand Theatre I wonder if others have noticed just how very tall the building now looks. It was the view of it coming onto Vicar Lane from North Street today that caught my eye of how much the height of the Grand Theatre now dominates the area. I'm sure it was not that tall before the renovations! You may be right there - I have a feeling that a whole new taller part was built, visible from within Harrison Street, during the refurbishments and building of the lorry lift. I'll have a look again sometime, and I did take one or two pics during the building.

I think I may have to have a mooch down for the Temple Works tour! I love that building and would love to have a look around inside. I might go for the Temple Newsam and St Marys one as well as they are 5 minutes away from me

Temple Works is definitely worth a look. I'm away this weekend, so can't get to anything - gutted!

Went to Red Hall this morning. Fairly interesting if you're an RL fan (I am) all the cups including the defunct ones were on display, in the board room. I didn't realise Red Hall now belongs to the RFL.

Greatly enjoyed the guided walk round Holbeck this lunchtime - headed by the boss of Leeds Civic Trust. He has a most appealing way of putting over a wealth of information and just the odd humourous quip here and there. I saw an awful lot of things in that 100 minutes which I never knew existed.
