Only saw this thread tonight. Maybe of relevance -http://www.secretleeds.co.uk/forum/Mess ... e=0&#60677     Another growing scam taking advantage of folk's generosity, is collectors seemingly genuine, how have no intention other than selling your goods for prfit, either as waste or for reuse.I think bone-fide organisations have to be licenced by the Council to collect door-to-door don't they? I saw a police program on tv this week part of it was about two low lifes stealing bags of clothes,It said they can get eight hundred pounds a ton for them so there is big money to be made by scum like them. If there's easy money to be had at a cost to someone else, there will always be sombody happy to help themselves.

There are a few fake companies out there as well as legit charities. Here's one I got a couple of years ago from a company called Help & Support Ltd that sells donated clothes: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mhoulden/5 ... 34/Another problem I find is that the genuine charities give out loads of bags (around one a week in Horsforth) but don't bother to collect the empties. Seems a bit of waste to throw them away but there's not much else you can do.
