There were other unions who used the hall I think. I cant bring to mind the street name it was on though.

Leeds 9.Leeds 21804That was from the 1939 Phone Book        Michael That explains it U/Mick! And thanks for your efforts in locating Perrotts. I'm sure we used to go along Roseville Road toget to the site so,maybe the Transport Dept was along that routeand the main offices were at Mccaulay St.?It's a long time from 1945/6/7 so my old (very) grey mattermay be a bit suspect. I'm sure there was a boilerhouse witha tallish chimney. We used to service the electric pumps supplyingsteam to the shrinking machinery. also the motors for the same, and the factory lighting etc. I had to visit McCaulay St a few months back to get a thermostat for our immersion heater.Regam Electricsis along there. I couldn't recognise anything to do with Perrottsyard and boilerhouse. Fairly derelict anyway around that areaThanks again Mick

If I recall correctly Regam's had a shop on Eastgate until just a few years back. It always seemed to have things that I could not readily find elsewhere.

Yes it was on Eastgate, and then they moved to Boar Lane and then Macauley Street
Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?

buffaloskinner wrote: Yes it was on Eastgate, and then they moved to Boar Lane and then Macauley Street Hi Buff and Leo!I can go back even further with Regam! ( OLD Show off!)Working for the same firm that serviced(Electrically!) Perrott's,(That was McCulloch and Newitt. Electrical Engineers andcontractors in New park St, off ParkLane) ,we used to rewindsmall electric motors for Regam, who were then based justround the corner off (D?)Barnborough St The owner was Mr MAGER(Regam in reverse!). They were still there when I joined upin 47 and a couple of years later,in the 50's, I saw that they hada shop just by the Midland Bank on Boar Lane. I believethey moved again to Kirkgate(?) then on to Eastgate andthence to Mc Caulay St. where they still are (I think, unlessthey have their name down to move in to the proposedNew Eastgate Centre, if it ever materialises!).
