I personally think these sitings are brilliant, anyone any thoughts or seen otheranimals in town? Yeah i squashed one there on the way to work at 4am,didnt want it to suffere so ireversed over it again, its still there!!(yes, i know,i know) Mummy rabbit took babies out to learn to be street-wise. Waiting in the dark at the side of the road, she explained how the big noisey two-eyed monsters always came along when they were tryin to cross the road. Just sit very still in between its eyes as it vrooms over the top of you, don't move and you'll be fine.Off went the first youngster and sure enough, big two-eyes came along. Shaking a little, he sat tight, eyes tight shut. Vroom! yes! I'm fine, shaking a little he finishe the journey over the road.Next little'un set off, the familiar noise, and whoosh! Yup, ok too. the third set off, confiently sitting still as the vroom vroom bore down happy all would be well. Vrooooom, slurt. Bloomin Reliant Robin.

I admit to being a soft old git, but it really DOES upset me if I unavoidably run over any animal - when all is said and done what chance do they have ??. I was once on my way to work at SYRT in Pontefract very early in the morning and hadn't gone far (Burley Road) when a little bird hit the car with a thud. I couldn't see it anywhere so had to carry on again. I had a new Lada Riva with the improved radiator grille at the time - some days later one of the cheeky young fitters said "Hey these Ladas aren't bad for picki'n up birds are they ??" The little corpse was lodged behind the grille and, so soft am I, that I had to plead with the joker to remove it, which bless him he did.The woods at Beckets Park here are home to loads of foxes, noisy blighters, which have no fear at ll - just the really cheeky cunning for which they are noted. I was putting the car away last night when two cubs crossed the car park, stood still and weighed things up, and then trotted smartly away towards the nearby maisonettes. They are lovely looking creatures but I'm not sure that I like them really - riddled with fleas etc, and that cruel streak whereby they don't just pinch the chicken they want to eat, but slaughter everything else as well.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
