Hanging my head in shame. It was the Flamenco.Just had a root round on Ancestry in the phone books         Flamenco             1 Cross Belgrave Street                 (1964 phone book)PS But it was Ikes later         Michael PPS From imfo from the phone books it looks like it was there from 1957 to 1975

If that was the Flamenco, would that explain why the Bolero on Eastgate was called that - a trend for exotic Spanish names to go with Granadas, Cortuinas and Fiestas?

There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

does anyone know when the new yorkshire evening post was built i think it was in the late 60 or early 70when it was erected

The first staff moved in from Albion Street in 1970. The building was officially opened by Prince Charles in 1971.

Just been talking to an old friend who asks, was the coffee bar we're talking about (The Flamenco) by any chance called Hanandos? The name rings a bell. If it wasn't where was Hernandos?
