In the late 50s I remember seeing a pink and white Cadillac convertible near the Hillcrest Cinema in Harehills. .With that colour scheme it definitely wasn't connected with Leeds. It looked like a parade float from Mars. Cars at that time were "coal hole black" or a curious kind of "Kirkstall Khaki" that Morris Minors were painted in - reputedly by using a mixture of war surplus paint.    
It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!

H'mmm...........A few years ago you could have bought a Ford in Brown & White.Couldn't get Leedser than that!
