I was in Taddy the other week in a pub on the main street. It's happy hour lasted from 5 to 10 and it opened until 4am. I was tempted to look int he Estate agents at houses but the commute would be a bugger.

On the other hand, some parts of south-east Leeds have Wakefield postcodes. I used to live at Carlton (near Robin Hood, near Lofthouse, near Rothwell - all within the post-1974 Leeds boundary) and had a WF3 postcode.

I remember some officious pr@t from the Post Office spouting off in the YEP in the mid-80s - something about 'these people [with WF postcodes] seem to think they live in Leeds'. He was shot down in flames pretty quickly.

The confusing situation re Wakefield POSTCODES in the Leeds Council area is made even more complicated by some areas within the Leeds boundary having Wakefield telephone numbers as well.I know how confusing this could be as it was those areas were on my patch when I used to work for Leeds City Council and certain other services used to try to tell us that they couldn't do anything for the client as Wakefield should be providing the services until we eventually got it through to them that no you as Leeds services have to as Leeds City Council WOULDN'T BE PROVIDING ME AS A WORKER IF THE ADDRESS WAS IN WAKEFIELD!
