From what I have read over the last few days I'm not sure if the menswear side of things was still in the hands of the "Greenwood" family. I know (as my late mother in law worked for the family) that many years ago it was split into several different companies with business interests over and above the mens clothing, such as shopping malls in the USA,so maybe the less profitable bits have been sold off over the years. I think you're right, Lilysmum. I met David Greenwood a few years ago, and he said their main business was property. Incidentally, I believe his father was head of governors at Woodhouse Grove School.

Yes Si,I think he was, My late hubby loved going to the Greenwood's house with his mum as a child and remembered it was always warm due to the central heating and they had a freezer with mivvi ice lollies, utter luxury and a world away from their council house down the hill in Greengates.David was a boarder at Woodhouse Grove although he could probably see his home from there.
