Are they what archeologists call - "Cup and Ring " marks???Carvings made thousands of years ago.

Where are they? On a stone at the Abbey? Could be mason's marks.

It is a cup stone, it was taken to the abbey from Horsforth for safe keeping as its one of the oldest markings in the area.I've watched countless groups of people walk past it as well!
