Hi Shelala,
Thank you for the information. The collar number 788 was re-allocated to another officer called Rodney Walker in about 1966. I worked at Upper Wortley Police Station at this time and Rodney was posted there, on another group, after Initial Training.

Unfortunately I’ve not had any luck in reuniting my mother with grandads medals.

I'm pleased to say we have a result on this post...
Jaz Mawson (Grandson of Walter Young) and the Station Cat (original poster) were finally put in touch with each other following a little bit of work by Ian Smith and myself.
I handed the medal set over to Jaz on 5th October... family gold back where it belongs.

No matter were i end my days im an Hunslet lad with Hunslet ways.
