I was on National Road the other day and noticed several Maroon and white double deck buses towards the river. Further investigation on google maps/streetview tells me that this is Tetley's Coaches yard, which was news to me. Now I am sure there are other towns and cities that ran maroon and white liveries but Edinburgh is the one that springs to my mind.
It does pose a bit of a double barreled question though. Why has a coach operator several buses on its premises and why of that livery?
One of the buses in the livery can be seen on streetview from June here https://goo.gl/maps/Pfyxy6chrY32 . Although bizarrely the top deck appears to have been blurred out in the same way number plates and faces are. I am sure there was much more then the one this week.

maroon and white/cream buses are/have also been used by East Kent, Tynemouth, Coventry, Wigan, Portsmouth, Oldham Burnley , Colne , Isle of man and Doncaster. Oldham seems to prefer the format shown on the google map page.

I love the sign outside Tetley's depot as shown on the Streetview:
"24 hours access required at all times"
"24 hours access required at all times"
The older I get, the better I was.

Re: Maroon buses in Tetley's Coach yard
Possibly answered my own question over the last 24 hours. Last evening and again this morning I have seen maroon buses with the rear number board showing TLS. I only saw the front destination board on this mornings which was showing Capita Arlington. Given the location (bottom of Dewsbury Road) of last nights sighting that would be consistent with a shuttle service to Capita (formerly Ventura?) at the Arlington Centre off Beeston RingRoad. Tetley's use coaches to run a similar service to Leeds Valley Park on the A61 just down from Rothwell Haigh. I'm not sure whether that's for Capita, another resident company or perhaps even the LVP owners.

I think Bruno was just showing an example. It certainly looks more like being taken in Scarborough than Leedswarringtonrhino wrote:what is the significance of the 'Scarborough & District' lettering?
