Why were there many people in Lovell Park today (May 14 2014)?

On a bus going up North Street into Leeds this morning at about 11:45 I happened to notice there were many people in the top area of Lovell Park. There looked to be several hundred. I wonder if anyone knows if anything was going on?

Could it have been a fire drill from Lloyds?

Cheers all. I did wonder if it may have been a fire alarm/drill but it did seem to be a strange area to go to with large numbers of staff having to cross a main road and still go further. I did even wonder if they may have been queuing for tickets to some coming performance the Leeds Arena!

I work near the Lloyds building - formerly Halifax Head office in, well, Halifax... - and it's a sight to be seen when their alarm goes off. (You'd have no idea that the taxpayer still subsidised so many incomes)The problem is finding somewhere large enough to accommodate such a large number of people, potentially for a number of hours - The Shay where they are all meant to go is a good walk from the building across the A629 but it's the only place they can fit them all.

I used to work for the Halifax and was moved to the Lovell Park building after the merger with the Leeds and now you mention it do remember being evacuated to the park one day for a drill.

The people in the bank, including myself, do not deserve the casual abuse that seems to have become the norm since the crisis 6 years ago.
