Jenny White & The CallsThe Calls was decribed by Heaton in 1835 as 'a gloomy road above the river'Heaton also describes 'a long flight of steps, dark and ugly, between the houses (the last being into the water), long known by the name of 'Jenny White's Hole''. Legend had it that Jenny White, 'finding marriage vows as false as dicer's oaths' had ended her life here. This is the alleyway and steps just to the right of 28 The Calls (Atkinsons Building).Anyone know more? There is some relevance as it seems to (perhaps) have been the departure point in 1969 for David Oluwale rip.

Caron hiIt is 28 The Calls http://g.co/maps/s93df(zoom out and look on satellite behind it)To the rear of it was known as Warehouse Hill with a busy working wharf. There was also the furthest east 'outflow' of the King's Mills Goit (the mill race taken from "High Dam" just before the Dark Arches).A bit about it on p2 of http://www.secretleeds.com/forum/Messag ... ighLight=1
