Middleton Quarry

Following on from the Leeds anglers thread does anyone have any memory’s or pictures of Middleton Quarry. The quarry used to be where the rugby pitch and 5 a side pitches at the South Leeds Stadium are now. When I was a kid in the late 50's my father used to walk me up Old Run Road on a Sunday morning for a bit of string and worm fishing for stickle backs, we were even offered a King Newt to take home so the water must have been okay.
