As a New Years present for Secret Leeds would it be possible to replace "Celebrate Leeds 2007" on the active forums page. When I click on it I get a message in Urdu or some similar language.        To new users it must look like a out of date website Anyway let's Celebrate Leeds 2012 and may I wish everyone a Happy New Year

Unfortunately, little funding is provided and making such changes is not easily achieved, though it does seem a shame that a more upto date link to something can't be substituted. dsco??????

These things are pretty easy to remove if you know how, and don't cost anything. They are only like when you embed something on a site are given a long long list of letter and numbers to post. An admin' needs to go into the Administration Control Panel, if there is one on here, and remove it.
Sit thissen dahn an' tell us abaht it.

It's probably part of the Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) and as such would need careful editing of that file on the web server. The only content on the left that has changed in the sites 5 year existence is the number of users (although that always appears to be in the 60s), the number of users (something I also have suspicions on the accuracy of) and the number of posts which is probably the most relaible of the 3.

Chrism, dsco has looked at this and other changes before, there is a reason but quite what that is, I don't know - other than perhaps the developers may have a part to play but, fingers crossed that the New Year may see some of the changes arrive
