BBC4 is running a Yorkshire themed night tonight. Not strictly Leeds, but I'd imagine it will be of interest to some.Schedule as follows:19:00–19:30 The Cult of...Sunday Night, All Creatures Great and Small 1/8. Unearthing the history behind cult Sunday night drama All Creatures Great and Small. (R)19:30–20:00 Life with Fred - On the Road 1/4. Fred Dibnah travels to the Yorkshire Dales and Cambridge to find something to work on. (R)20:00–20:30 Last of the Summer Wine Series 15, Stop That Bath 6/10. Compo, Clegg and Foggy find that bath time can be a moving experience. (R)20:30–21:00 The Yorkshire Dales on Film Life in the Yorkshire Dales as seen on newsreels, documentaries and home movies. 21:00–22:00 The Department Store - Milners 1/3. Richard Macer spends six months at Milners, a family-run store in the Yorkshire Dales. (R)22:00–00:10 This Sporting Life A Yorkshire coal miner decides to better himself by becoming a professional rugby player. This being BBC4 the running order is largely repeated again after midnight, full running order here http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/programmes ... /todayLast of the Summer Wine should be a treat - series 15 was right at the peak of it's popularity and I'm hoping all the great characters will be present. Given the multitude of digital channels now availble it's stil a mystery to me why the 'comedy' channels seem fixated with the last couple of series of what has been on BBC1 and reruns of Only Fools and Horses - hopefully this will spur them into showing some true classics. The Yorkshire Dales on Film also looks promising while This Sporting Life is rightly reckon to be one of the greatest films of it's kind.Let's hope they resit the temptation to fill the continuity slots with 'ecky thump and we'll be OK.

Last of the Summer Wine was laugh out loud funny - you forget just how good it was.The episode shown was from 1993, which was a bit later than I'd imagined series 15 would be but was still very enjoyable to watch.

There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
