I would have liked to have seen that but I didn't. I think the rainbow-like one is known as a sundog. In ideal conditions a sundog can be seen on both sides of the Sun. They are caused by ice crystals very high up, usually when the Sun is low.

I live in Gomersal and went out for a drive, I couldnt figure it out , it looked like a rainbow with no middle, then I drove down the hill towards Baliff Bridge, you get a full panaorama to the west from there, was amazing, two suns !

I sent the photo to Look North so hopefully they have a better photo or even mention it on today's weather.
I've just been out but haven't seen any sundogs tonight. There are though some fascinating cloud formations around, including some intriguing tendril like ones. Lovely scene but going already.
