Glancing through a Citroen brochure today, I noticed that you can now buy your new Citroen in "Belle Ile bleu".As every schoolboy knows, this translates as Belle Isle Blue. This got me thinking: has any other manufacturer ever produced a colour named after an area in Leeds?Back in the 70's, could you buy a Morris Marina in Bramley beige?Or could you get a Ford in Gipton Green?

Ford in the 50's had a regional range of colours. Our Prefect was Durham Biege and Newark Gray,so theremay have been a Yorkshire link
