I first heard this song sung by the late Harry Boardman of Failsworth on the Topic record "Trans Pennine" in the sleeve notes he says it comes from the "Hunslet Sporting Calendar" He migrated the song to the other side of the Pennines, but herehttp://www.folkleads.org.uk/songs/holbeck_moor ... sic.htmlis a version which mentions Holbeck and Oldham, but also alternative verses which mention Hunslet.
