Benjamin Latrobe who was involved in the designof the Whitehouse is reported to have been born near Leeds.Is that the link??

Is it something to do with President Reagan visiting Menwith Hill and he stayed in Pudsey somewhere.

Latrobe was born at the Fulneck Moravian Settlement, which if I'm not mistaken is up Pudsey way?Anyway, he designed the US capitol...

Well done dogduke Latrobe is the answer.Spot on argie he was born at Fulneck and educated at Fulneck School.I thought this would have lasted longer than this but i should have known better.
