I finally got to take a look at a place i've wondered about for 2 years now.It really is a unique relic of British railways in years gone by.It's the garden nursey for the Yorkshire region were all the station floral displays and fruit and veg were grown for the buffet cars. It's near to York at Poppleton. The place was closed in 1995 and is now overgrown and derelict. The place even had it's own narrow gauge railway for transporting the materials around the site.My picture collection is here if anyone would like a look http://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn ... 73/detail/

Reminds me of Saville Brothers garden centre at Garforth Cliff and it's little Rio Gande train. Loved going on that as a kid and my kids live it too.
Ravioli, ravioli followed by ravioli. I happen to like ravioli.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was about model railways. There is (was) a scale model railway which is (was) steam operated behind the Unison building on Bradford Road at Tingley. I wonder if it's still there?
