Welcome back Arry. Not surprised you are having difficulties with Vista most experts are too. Even M$ are now admitting its not much more use than a chocolate fireguard (well not quite but they are admiiting mistakes) in unveiling its successor currently under the cunning name of Windows 7.

I think Windows 95 was easier to use than Vista. My parents have it & I find it totally baffling. They look to me on advice on how to use computers, then I sit down in front of theirs & have to go 'OK, it's got me stumped'. I used to do User Acceptance Testing for new banking systems. It should not be harder than that, but it is.Welcome back, 'Arry. Glad to be of assistance.

I think each successive version of the M$ operating system has got more and more complicated as M$ have tried to incorporate in the core functionality applications that should really be separate and upto individual users whether they want to incorporate them.I think Millenium might have been the first one to have Internet Explorer completely bundled in the OS. Unfortunately it was so heavily intertwinned with Windows Explorer that every time IE crashed (and it was frequent for me) so did WE effectively hosing the PC for that session.Windows 7 is supposedly going to be smaller than Vista which probably means they have removed Vista functuionality that doesn't work and/or nobody (or hardly anyone) uses.XP is still the benchmark because it to my mind at least has been the most stable OS since MS/DOS
