I realised today that the Skulls will get a glimpse of the tour!!!
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

While I was in City Square in early afternoon today many people were taking photos of the phoneboxes and also the yellow jerseyed Black Prince and the nymph. A couple of men were undertaking very professional imaging of 'The Yellow Route' phonebox and I overheard one them say that they were doing it as part of a documentary. The yellow jerseyed nymph would certainly win a wet T-shirt contest!

The BBC have a documentary on the TdF's visit to Yorkshire coming up on Sunday at 10:55pm on BBC1.Harry Gration was talking about it on Radio Leeds earlier in the week - due to ITV holding the television rights for coverage of the race, the BBC are limited to what they can actually show, hence making the documentary about the wider subject.A check of the listings suggests its only being shown in the Yorkshire region though - another example of the Corporations blatant anti-Northern bias?

Just walked up The Headrow and witnessed the preparations and people getting themselves geared up for the TDF. "Thousands of Daft Folk" I suppose (clean version)

I saw a television report about the TDF this morning and was amused by the several ORKSHIRE that were on view. They would of course have read YORKSHIRE but the yellow Y being used in the TDF event was effectively invisible onscreen!

Actually many seem glad when it's over. Just a tourist thing. All the road closures etc becoming a bore. Might move to the Isle of Man. ??

I was all for the TdF when it was first announced, but I'm sorry to say that I agree with your viewpoint now. It's a big jolly for the council and goodness knows how many others funded from the public purse, the road closures are excessive, over long and frankly will do the "business" of the city more harm than good. Gridlocking the city centre at rush hour last night so a select few could cycle up to the arena was nothing short of madness - loads of city centre firms closed at lunchtime / mid afternoon so staff could avoid the carnage. The race starts at 11:10 and the cyclists will be out of the city centre by 11:12 - so why the roads will be staying closed until 6:30pm is another mystery.
