Don’t know if this is how you reply to posts but I guess it works. Many thanks for the info. It looks like it was an interesting place. I would’ve loved to have seen it!uncle mick wrote: ↑Sun 26 Jan, 2020 7:09 amThe tram sheds were originally Swinegate Depot the headquarters for Leeds City Trams. Later it became the Queens Hall, scene of many concerts Beatles,Stones and many others played there

Either way of responding is fine. If you want to reference a specific post e.g. thanking someone for the information then quoting the post or relevant portions is probably best. If it is a general post e.g. thanking two or more contributors then quoting is probably not appropriate. However with a little knowhow on how the quoting works you can include several quotes in the single post.Redhotstompers wrote: ↑Mon 27 Jan, 2020 5:05 amOr maybe this is the way to reply. Whatever. Thanks!

Several times, but my memory is somewhat dim, it would be nearly sixty years ago. Based more or less on the 1923 King Oliver Creole Jazz Band with two cornet players, but with a brass bass instead of the string variety. I think the band was mostly composed of university students but could be wrong. I think Andy Holdorf (later of Shep's Banjo Boys) was on trombone, and John James may have been one of the cornet players. Small entry charge and the place was usually heaving. It must have been early in my own musical career, as I never had the temerity to ask to sit in! 1959/60 would be about rightRedhotstompers wrote: ↑Mon 27 Jan, 2020 4:47 amThank you both. Did you ever see Caseys play Jim? I heard a tape of them once. It sounded ... scratchy...
